Maybe it seems trivial to you. Who cares about followers? It's not really about that for me either. But it's nice to know your voice is heard and that there are people out there that suffered, I mean, share the same experiences you do. People who can identify with you.
In a world that focuses so much on being a strong individual, we can forget how nice it is to have a community backing you up. And before you preach about the Internet, shhhhhh. Don't. Nobody cares. It's 2016. The world has changed from the times you used to write letters to your penpal in Australia, and then go play cricket with your friends in the road. That "meet people in real life" line is the world's most stupid argument. I mean, I can do both, can't you?

I hope September is treating you MUCH better than it's treating me.
So, the two weeks that make up 15-30 June is my half year analysis time. I like to look back on the goals I set in the beginning of the year and make sure I'm actually still working towards them. Mainly because it's not too late (I hope).
Here are my goals for 2016 (and my progress/reaction):
- Lose 20kg (ahahahahaahhaaaa!!)
- Have more financial security (*more hysterical laughter*)
- Get a job (WHAT WAS I THINKING??)
- RUN 5km (okay, I'm actually closer to this than I thought I would be)
- Graduate (SO. CLOSE.)
- Learn to do bomb make-up (I mean, I'm pretty pleased with what I've managed so far)

Wow. I have really not done as much as I thought I have. This is a wake up call and a half. But, you know what else? I STILL HAVE TIME.
Okay, maybe if I put my resolutions on the interwebs, then maybe I'll actually follow through with them *sweat bead emoji*
Here goes:
- Walk my beautiful dogs as often as possible (good for the dogs AND me)
- Eat as healthily as possible (I will be realistic AND still try for the best)
- DRINK MORE WATER (winter means I drink more coffee. My skin hates me for it.)
- Check email everyday & respond IMMEDIATELY (I'm scared)
- Journal (maybe I should add blog bc this is basically an online public journal)
- Save money (for the love of all that is good & sweet, Tanica, save some damn money)
Surely I can do these things? I have six months to achieve my goals. You have six months to achieve yours too. Six months is both a long time and no time at all, so let's get on it and make 2016 count.
I've forgotten I even have this silly old blog. Perhaps it is time to blow the dust off and find some inspiration once more. So much has happened in such a short space of time. But then again, that is the way I've always wanted my life to be: jam packed full of life.
My brother and Gabbi have FINALLY gotten engaged.
I'm almost done with my final degree (freedom and happiness, I am coming for you!!)
I have a more or less regular gig in Cape Town CBD (ikr?? whoever thought it would ACTUALLY HAPPEN)
Okay, so I made it sound like not that much has really gone down, but life's not about the big things. Life's about those tiny little details that you'll never forget. The small things.
Now that I've been brave enough to write some more, perhaps we shall meet again, and perhaps I'll actually be amazing at this whole blogging thing.
But perhaps I'll be too busy living a life burst at the brims :P
So, I decided that 2015 is gonna be the year of Beyoncé. Like, can you get a more powerhouse female than that? I think not.
So, last week I performed at an open mic and it went so well! People were actually asking when my next gig was? I had nothing to tell them. So, maybe I need to sort that out 😅
So.... When I started this blog, like, a million years ago, I was far too confused about life and what I wanted and, seeing as I had no clue what I wanted, I had no idea how to get to the end. Cue my song These Shoes.
This song is basically how I have no idea what to do with my childhood dreams of being a musician, but stuck in the science field because of insecurities, right? I mean, look, it's a terrible rendition on an old guitar, but mainly, the song was INCOMPLETE. I was so lost I couldn't even finish a song about being lost.
No, don't worry, this isn't a post about how lost I still am (secret: I am still flipping lost lol), but rather how I'm slowly finding direction. That's good right?
Anyhoo... Let's get back to this rebrand talk.... So, I titled my blog Runnin' With Wolves (RunninG was taken lol) because I wanted it to be about how I was trying to keep up with the big dogs in the industry of my dreams. But instead I let my dreams remain just that. For two years. I had done nothing but dream. Dream may be verb, but it's a useless one. Other actions are a necessity.
So, basically this blog is gonna turn more towards what those other actions are... :D Hooray! Actions! So, I play at open mic nights now and stuff and I'm saving up towards getting proper recording stuff.

I had told myself a while ago that if I had managed to win the approval of a particular institution, I would buy myself a onesie. See, it was always an aspiration to own one. Last week, I stopped waiting for the approval of the world and just bought the damn thing. Yes, I got judged and I had to promise people I wouldn't wear it outside the house (jokes on those people, I'ma wear it to their house), but I bought it to make myself happy.
PLUS IT'S FREAKING COOL!!
Everybody should own one, it's the most comfortable you will ever be!!
I can't wait for winter, I will be rocking that thing EVERYDAY!! (except GTL days of course)

Pronounced 'Churches', this group are what you need to listen to on a somewhat cloudy Monday morning. Their electro sound is very retro 80s and retro is cool :) Gary Clarke Jr.
The blues. The good ol' blues. It's a bit of an acquired taste, but it appeals to everyone at some stage or another. And this guy has a voice that'll melt away most of your blues anyway...

If you are not yet listening to this 16 year old wunderkind from New Zealand, where have you been?? Her single Royals has been HUGELY successful, but it doesn't stop there. Her album is full of intelligent lyrics and melodies that you can't believe came out of somebody that young. Do yourself a favour.

What a wonderful week! Wednesday was Rihanna as I documented. Loads of people complained, but what's the use really? You went, why regret it or complain? Last night was the amazing Lindsay's (rather premature) 21st (her birthday is late November). We went to the Private Hotel School in Stellenbosch, and I made my own pasta from scratch!
