Happy Father's Day! I hope you had a wonderful time with your father(s)! Anyhoo, I just wanted to share this picture with you... Actually, I should share something father related... Okay, a quick story:
When I was little, I went with my dad to the butcher... It was a place I had never been to before and I was just looking around, and naturally I got lost... I panicked a little bit, until I saw my dad looking at some fridges. I went up to him and took his hand, because I was scared and didn't want to lose him again... Eventually I lloked up at him, and ,SHOCK HORROR, it wasn't him!! I was about to start crying when I heard my dad laughing. I turned around to see him at the entrance... He had been watching me the whole time! *facepalm*
I know it's corny, but I know my dad's still watching out for me like that, I love him lots...
Anyhoo, onto that pic...
< How gorgeous? I really wish my hair was this amazingly long and my make up could be done so exquisitely, but still so natural... This is my beauty inspiration pic of the moment...
This evening I went to hang out with my girls... One of my best friends has been going through a reeeeaally tough time and it sucks that its happening, but we get to grow closer out of it and for that we are blessed... It was just amazing that we didn't talk nonsense about boys and silly stuff... Although I love that, it wasso good to talk about the hardcore real deal of life. I love those girls. Please, don't take your gal pals for granted... This is just a measly little blog post, but it's what I have to honour them. Thanks girls...
I'm back home in Cape Town... I've just gotten back so, I still need to settle in, but so far, so good... Watched some footie... It's all about the Euro2012 in my house and twitter and everywhere! My hearts on Portugal, but my money says Germany, but it's all about the knockout rounds that are about to go down... I don't really know much about soccer, but I know a hell of a lot more right now compared to what I used to know! I can actually say things, without sounding like a banana peel... :)
This may seem random, but I had been dying to see One Day, and I finally got around to it... It's amazing!! Yes, rather depressing, but wonderful! I think Anne Hathaway does an okay job as a Brit, but the thing I loved most is the travelling through the years. From the 80s right up to the 2000s. And ultimately, this movie is ALL about why I do NOT ride bicycles anymore... If you're wondering what I'm talking about, watch the movie, I ain't gonna give anything away...
I also watched two of my favourite movies yesterday while moping around: The Proposal & The Holiday. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The Holiday is especially one of my favourites, maybe because I love Iris's storyline so much, it's just wonderful and makes me feel so content... If you haven't seen it in a while, please hire it or whatever, just get around to seeing it!
The Proposal is just HILARIOUS! And Ryan Reynolds... Hello :) Hahaha! But I love everything about this movie! I remember going to see it at the cinema with Wesley, & when it got to the part where Sandra is breaking it down in the woods with Betty White I was laughing so loud, I think I was bothering people... I just remember Wesley looking at me a little funny, but he was smiling so I just carried on laughing... Good times...
Another hot topic (old but I didn't have time in exams) is Miley's engagement... She's younger than I am!!! Whats with everyone born in the 90s deciding now's a good time to get engaged? Let me clear up my opinion, I don't think soooooo! Lol, but that's just me... I have a good couple of things I wanna do before I'm tied down...
And what a ring!!! *hearteyes* Damn, having cash money must be amaze-balls! Some of these stars have collected a whole bunch of these and probably made key rings out of them... All I want for a key ring is one of those voodoo dolls... I'll try and give you look in a new feature thing I'm trying to figure out... But for now, I'm gonna enjoy being home, chillaxing to my John Mayer & my new Marron 5 album...
I'm sick :( and have a huge exam tomorrow afternoon, so naturally, I need to procrastinate... Thought I'd fill you in on some of the amazing things that I have been introduced to...
MUSIC:
Get your hands on the new John Mayer album. It is tooooo good! I'm not a reveiwer of these kinds of things, but I enjoyed the whole album... My favourite tracks include; Queen of California, Love is a Verb & of course the first single off the album, Shadow Days...
Chillax while the rain pours outside while John's lyrics, full of cheek the one minute and sentiment the next, keeps you company! :):)
One Direction is the shiz... Say what you want, these boys can rock it and make you feel like the most amazing girl in the world!! They came 3rd in their season of X factor, but they've definitely won in the long haul... I've only recently given them a chance and I'm not even shy about it anymore, they make me feel good, and, dammit, I don't care who knows it!!
GIVE ONE DIRECTION A CHANCE, YO! ;)
Okay, so the Biebz has grown up a whole bunch... His new track Boyfriend is more into the big boy department, although he's still got his little boy charm... He makes going through the awkward puberty phase easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Now that he's turned 18 he wants everybody to know he's growing up and, well, just listen to the damn song. I, for one, LOVE IT!
Okay, so I am a HUGE Gleek and well, I've had issues, just like everybody.... Even if you don't watch Glee (what is wrong with youuu???) you need to watch episode 14 of season 3... I've watched it a few times & I bawl every single time... Blaine blow's Young the Giant's Cough Syrup out the water and its incredible how moving it is... Please, remember that what you say & what you do affect the people around you... Don't be messing up people's flow coz you wanna seem cool or anything like that... It just affected me so much to think that people go through that kind of pain everyday and the world just goes by ignoring it... So,please, open up your eyes a little bit, you may save somebody's life...
And if ever you've gone though anything rough and felt junk ever, watch the performances toward the end... It makes my choke up and feel confident and feel like I'm worth the space I take up... ;)
MOVIES
I checked out the new Men in Black movie last week... It's great!! :D What a relief... I was concerned that it was going to be awkward with someone else playing a younger K, but Josh does a super job! It's funny & scary, and if you ever enjoyed the MIB movies, do not be afraid to check it out :):):)
SERIES!!!
So... Some series are over, but means that certain ones are coming back!!!!!!!!
Can't wait for True Blood season 5 baby!!! It's gonna be epic!
Anyhooo... That's where I'll sign off... Need to get back to studying Quantum Chem *tears*
So, the Avengers is pretty much one of the most amazing movies i've seen in a while, and it just shows how we are obsessed with superheroes... I found this website that can randomly tell you what your superpowers would be, and heres mine:
Tanica has developed all of the powers and talents of an
octopus, but she must speak words of power to do so. She also can deflect
kinetic shockwaves and she possesses the power to block psionic death and
deflect them toward a distant area. Tanica has learned to spin like a whirlwind
and she has been known to absorb the damage from most physical attacks and
redirect it toward a single adversary. Additionally, she developed the talent
to force monkeys into a deep sleep, however using this power draws a lot of
attention. Tanica has the power to kick electricity from her tail against
multiple foes and she rides an uncommon tank into battle. Lamentably, Tanica is
deathly afraid of men.
It's hilarious!! I really suggest you go check yours and leave a comment with your superpower description! To get you description, click here.
You never know, it might just happen...
